I would like to provide you all with an update of what we have been working on behind the scenes. Due the current climate & restrictions we had made the difficult decision to abandon our current major event format of overnight camping and as a result of that, the Top Gear Committee were planning to run single day Motorsport Events for Top Gear Scout this year.
This would have provided almost 3 times more driving time per driver along with keeping a number of our other adrenaline filled activities.

However with the announcement to extend the current lockdown our plans to commence the new format on the weekend of the 18th & 19th September can unfortunately no longer proceed and therefore Top Gear Scout 2021 will have to be Cancelled for now.
We are working very closely with Victorian State Branch and the Mafeking Rover Park Committee, if the opportunity arises to reschedule for later in the year we will let you know as soon as we have those dates.

Don’t worry, All those participants who currently have carry over tickets from previously cancelled events will have first pick for any future events they are eligible to attend (whether that be Top Gear Scout or Top Gear Venturer). Alternatively refunds can be requested by emailing [email protected] however this will remove your spot from the priority list.

We hope everyone stays safe during this difficult time & we will see you back outdoors when it’s safe to do so 🙂

Victorian State Leader – Top Gear

It is with great disappointment that I must inform you all that Top Gear Venturer 2021 which was to be held on the weekend of 19th-21st March 2021 has been cancelled.

I can assure you that this decision has not been made lightly nor with any haste; as a team we have been planning to run this event for the last 18 months! Even after the last cancellation of the event which was scheduled for September 2020 we have sought to change our activities to bring new ideas in an ever evolving motorsport era.

Unfortunately at this stage we are not able to provide a cost effective & safe event for both Venturers, Parents, Leaders & Supporters with the resources we have at our disposal during this difficult time.

We’re looking forward to being able to provide our program to the Venturer section as soon as practicably possible, maybe even later this year in a smaller format.

I would like to acknowledge everyone on the Top Gear Team for their hard work & thank them for all the time spent in the background planning and organising, not only this event but the various scenarios we have looked at over the last few months to try to make an event viable to run.

While this is disappointing news to all I hope everyone continues to stay safe during this difficult & evolving time we are experiencing.

Dear Parents, Leaders, Participants & Helpers,

Just a reminder following my last email regarding Top Gear Scout 2020 Tickets, if you haven’t already you have until the 31st of this month to nominate what you would like to do with your ticket.
Any tickets outstanding after this time will be forfeited.
Please ensure your Scout Units are aware!

Top Gear Scout 2020 Ticket Nomination Form

All CAMS license fees need to be refunded, as details entered during registration are now out of date & cannot be used for future events. Please ensure you enter your banking details to receive these funds back.
 

The Scouts Victoria Major Events Top Gear team in conjunction with Scouts Victoria Branch have put in the place the following measures regarding tickets that have been purchased for the Top Gear Scout 2020 event.

– All ticket holders will be given the opportunity to retain their spot and transfer their ticket to the next event. They can also opt to transfer this spot internally within a scout group or team to another member.

– Any ticket holders that have moved sections or age brackets will be able to transfer their ticket to the correct ticket type or event (ie. Scouts that have moved to Venturers can transfer their ticket to Top Gear Venturer, or Scouts that were Under 12 can opt to upgrade to an Over 12 Ticket)

– If none of the above is able to occur then we will refund the ticket cost to your nominated bank account (less any fees paid upon initial purchase).

Our admin team has been working hard to ensure your ticket nominations are handled in a timely manner, please make it easier for us to do this by nominating your decision via the below link to the Top Gear Scout 2020 Ticket Nomination Form before 31st October 2020.

Also all merchandise orders have been posted out to the nominated address at time of ordering, if you haven’t received your order please let us know.

Top Gear Scout 2020 Ticket Nomination Form

On behalf of the entire Top Gear Team we hope everyone is staying safe during these unprecedented times.

We have received a number of enquires over the last few weeks in regards to tickets & if/when our events will be running. As much as I’d love to have some good news to share, unfortunately the reality is that there won’t be any face to face Scouting any time soon in Victoria 😞

Rest assured our Team has still been working very hard behind the scenes to ensure our events are ready to go when we get the go ahead.

I will have some further information in the coming weeks regarding tickets that have been purchased for events this year & the plan moving forward.

We thank you all for your patience & understanding during this time, all our team are dedicated volunteers with a number in essential service roles at the moment, so there may be a delay in responding to messages.

We have received a number of emails recently requesting information regarding the collection or postage for merchandise ordered from our online shop (TopGearScout.com/Shop)

The current merchandise orders for Top Gear Scout 2020 are made & ready.
Due to the postponement in running the event we are offering postage or pickup for those who would like their Merchandise order sooner rather than later.

Postage will be $10 or you can pick up in Boronia 3155.  If you would like to go ahead, please email [email protected] and we will send an invoice for the postage cost.  Once paid the merchandise will be sent it out. 

Pick up is of course free. We will let you know when is suitable to pickup once social distancing rules are lifted!

Due to the current Covid-19 situation we cannot say when Top Gear Scout 2020 will be, but we remain hopeful & our team is ready to run the event as soon as we can 🙂
