We are running a shuttle bus service from Seymour Train Station to Mafeking Rover Park on Friday Night & Sunday Afternoon but this MUST be pre-booked so we can accommodate numbers.
We will be running a Canteen selling soft drinks, chocolate bars, chips, lollies.
The Canteen will be CASH ONLY so ensure you have some change.

You can still pre-order any merchandise from our Online Shop prior to the event or we will have limited stock available to purchase at the Canteen.
You must be between the ages of 14-17 and registered as a venturer or Guide in order to attend.
Leaders, Parent Helpers and Rovers are also welcome to attend.
Yes, you must have a valid CAMS license in order to participate in the activities at Top Gear Venturer.
A Junior CAMS License costs $35 and is valid for 12 months.
A link to our online CAMS license form can be found on our event registration page.
If your license has expired, you can renew your current license by going through the online portal on the CAMS website – www.cams.com.au
You can also apply for a new 12 month license using on online CAMS license form on our event registration page, however we recommend renewing your CAMS License on the CAMS website.
No, you only need a valid CAMS license.
You will be camping, you will need to bring your own tent to sleep in, we will assign you a camping bay to set up in when you arrive on site.
You will need to bring a health form, water bottle, tent, bedding, dilly bag, toiletries and clothes.
In order to participate in the driving you will need to wear a long sleeve shirt and pants. Something easy to wear over shorts and t-shirt is ideal if the weather is warm so it can be taken off when you’re not driving.
Don’t forget to pack for the conditions – sun protection if it’s warm, rain gear if it’s wet.
You are welcome to bring your own racing helmet if you have one – it will just need to be checked by one of our scrutineers before you start driving.
We follow the DADS rules on camp – no alcohol or drugs are allowed onsite.
You will be immediately removed from the camp and sent home at your expense if you are found with drugs or alcohol, even if they do not belong to you.
Victorian Police Scouters will be onsite to enforce this.
Energy drinks are also not permitted. We will have a canteen where you can buy snacks and cold soft drinks.
No, Top Gear Venturer is a fully catered weekend. You will need to bring a dilly bag though.
Yes, our catering team has plenty of experience in catering for a wide range of modified diets.
If you have a trickier diet our Modified Diets Manager may give you a call to confirm a menu for you.
If you are concerned about your modified diet you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your needs.
Yes, you are welcome to come without a leader.
Our welfare team will check in on you throughout the weekend to make sure you’re okay. If there is a problem you can approach any of our team members for help.
Yes, you are welcome to come without your unit. Then brag about how much fun you had at your next unit meeting.
We will be organizing shuttles to and from Seymour train station on the Friday night and Sunday afternoon.
If you can get to Seymour train station we can get you to the park.
Yes, we will have members of the Victorian Scouts First Aid team onsite.
The park is ambulance accessible and there are two hospitals within an hour’s drive of the park.
Yes, you can either bring a personal esky or we can store them in a refrigerator at first aid or the main hall.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that 90% of our activities are centered around driving we do not recommend you come to Top Gear Venturer without a CAMS license.
As per the change in November 2018 to allow youth members who turn 18 in Year 12 to continue to be a member in the Venturer Unit until 31st December of their current academic year ( Link to Media Article ) we will allow Venturers who have been approved by their Unit Council to attend Top Gear Venturer.
Unfortunately due to CAMS Licensing requirements Venturers who fall into this scenario will require an Adult CAMS License which is $95, instead of $35 for the Junior License) .
The CAMS License will need to be applied for via the CAMS Website directly as our system is only for the Junior CAMS Licenses. The link is https://portal.cams.com.au/members/registration
